| Alan was not just an EMT. He truly loved what he did and, in the end, he gave his all. On June 24, 2014, EMT Alan Smith, 48, and his partner Paramedic Dennis Rushing, 31 were responding to a medical call on Mississippi Highway 63. As they passed two 18-wheelers, the lead truck made a left turn into the path of the ambulance killing Alan and Dennis. |
