No one could make someone laugh the way Mark could. He was always able to provide comic relief whenever it was most needed. He was also often willing to "tell it like it is" in the best interest of others, even though they didn't want to hear it. He loved serving people, and it was while working as an EMT that he most enjoyed life.Southwest Ambulance hired Mark in July 2006 as a courier while he was studying literature at Arizona State University. He transferred to the position of EMT on August 20, 2007. Mark had hoped to one day become a paramedic. Mark loved his work and taking care of dogs. He also enjoyed reading and writing. On January 8, 2010, while reporting for the second half of a double shift, Mark was killed when the motorcycle he was driving was struck head on by a pick-up truck.Honored 2011 |
