Although Don and AirMed are no longer with us, Don's pioneering work in emergency medical services lives on!

In addition to a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Don was a registered nurse and paramedic. He pioneered advanced life saving techniques in Manchester, New Hampshire, and was northern New England's first flight nurse/paramedic.

On November 19, 1993 Don was riding as a flight nurse with a burn victim in an AirMed helicopter when it went down in the Atlantic Ocean en route to Maine Medical Hospital in Portland. Don, 50, was one of three people killed in the accident.

Don left behind his wife Carole and son Micum.
