People in the pre-hospital industry love what they do. Why else would they do it? When Ryan took a flight nurse position with EagleMed, he quickly found that he, too, loved being in the pre-hospital field. Ryan did not start his health care career in helicopters. He was a well-respected nurse who worked in the PICU of Children's Hospital and in the ER of Oklahoma University Medical Center with many years of experience.<br />

Ryan attended the University of Central Oklahoma where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He was a loving husband to his wife, Melissa, and proud father to his sons, Cole and Hudson. He made friends wherever he went. A friend lamented that "Ryan was one of those people that you could meet for 30 seconds and you had a friend for life."<br />

On the evening of Thursday, July 22 while en route to Okeene to pick up a patient, EagleMed 7 crashed in a secluded area outside of Kingfisher, OK. Ryan and pilot Allan Dale Harrison were killed in the crash. A third crewmember survived the crash.<br />
