Guy del Giudice started flying in the 1990s at Sky Helicopters and went on to become its chief instructor. He went on to fly for utility companies and fire departments in southwest Texas before working for CareFlight. At CareFlight, he became the company's chief pilot. Guy took his work and the responsibility that came with it so seriously that he held many pilot certificates, including the Airline Transport Pilot certification, the highest rating a civilian pilot can achieve. His coworkers and pilots knew him as one of the most skilled pilots in the industry.<br />

Guy was a devoted family man to his wife and stepsons and friends. "With Guy, there was no line between friends and family?once you were in, you were in all the way." He loved all things active and outdoors. A member of the Jasper High School Class of 1984, he went on to achieve a bachelor's degree from Indiana State University.<br />

On the afternoon of June 2, 2010 after completing maintenance on a Bell 222 helicopter that was being prepared to enter CareFlight service, Guy, 44, and mechanic Stephen Durler were killed when the aircraft crashed just outside Grand Prairie Municipal Airport on the grounds of the old Ameristeel tire recycling plant.<br />
