| Rico Torres was an emergency medical technician with the Middle Island Fire Department, Middle Island, New York.<br /> <br /> EMT Torres, 37, responded to a mutual aid EMS call on July 4, 2008. After going home from the alarm, Middle Island Fire Department EMT Torres collapsed in his driveway. Efforts by his colleagues to revive him were unsuccessful.<br /> <br /> He leaves behind his wife, Michelle, and two children ages two and a half and one year old.<br /> <br /> Honored 2009 |
