"We are a small, tight-knit crew, working in a small area and we are family. Losing Lauren is hard; she is one of us," said a co-worker. "She had a great Indiglo watch which I thought was so cool that I got one too," said another colleague. Lauren was such a friendly, outgoing girl and a good nurse; she knew what she was doing," stated colleague Shopteese. Lauren is really going to be missed.<br />

Lauren Eileen Stone, 30, was killed in the line of duty on March 10, 2000. The helicopter went down about three miles from the Texas-Oklahoma border, in an area where cattle grazing the grasslands are the only break in the scenery. Lauren was a flight nurse for Northwest Texas Health.<br />

Lauren had a twin sister who said it was Lauren's dream to become a flight nurse. She really worked hard at becoming one. "I am so happy that she lived her dream."<br />
