"Leroy wanted nothing more than to be a nurse responding to emergencies in helicopters," stated his chief flight nurse. He had been with the flight team just two weeks and would have made a great flight nurse. He had a real passion for the job. Larry had realized his dream, and that is something good to say about this tragedy.<br />

Leroy C. Shelton, 37, was killed in the line of duty on April 4, 1999. The medical helicopter crashed into a patch of land near Indian Springs, Nevada, as it returned to its rural base after the transport of a patient in Las Vegas, Nevada.<br />

Shelton was a paramedic with Flight for Life out of Las Vegas, Nevada.<br />
