Biography
"If there was ever a person who heeded his calling in this world, it was Bruce Kosanke," stated a friend. "He lived helping people from the minute he arose in the morning until he called it a day in the evening; this man was born a hero."

Bruce Kosanke, 58, died in the line of duty on November 12, 2006. Members of the Kulm Ambulance Service had responded to a call, and had finished preparing a patient in the rescue vehicle for transport to the hospital, when they realized that Kosanke was unresponsive. He was in the ambulance driver's seat ready to transport when he slumped over the wheel. Immediate CPR was begun and help was called in; however, Bruce died of a massive heart attack.

Kosanke was an emergency medical technician for Kulm Ambulance Service. He served as vice president of the agency with over 20 years of service. He was an active member, instructing classes and helping with all duties of rescue. Bruce was also a member of Kulm Fire Department.

When a crew member as dedicated as Kosanke goes, that person is missed not only by the agency but by the entire community.

Honored 2009
