Rupert Allen Fuller, Jr. was a volunteer EMS firefighter from Darlington in Walton County, Florida. He was owner and manager of a local country store where he housed and ran the only EMS vehicles in the area for many years. Over the years, the department grew and was able to construct a fire house and obtain one of the finest foam trucks in Northwest Florida.<br />

Rupert Fuller, 76, of Westville, Florida, died in the line of duty on October 24, 2002. He had responded to an EMS call when he was stricken with a severe headache and was transported to a local hospital in Alabama, where he later died.<br />

Rupert was a very active member with the Darlington-Gaskins Fire and EMS in Westville, Florida. He received the Fireman of the Year Award for the last two years of his life, as well as scoring one of the highest scores on the EMS test that the teacher had ever given.<br />
<br />
Rupert was a military veteran who served his country during WWII and the Korean War. During his military career, the Army wanted to send him to West Point Academy.<br />
<br />
He was buried with full honors, and will be in the record books as one of the longest active members of fire and EMS.<br />
