Heidi McDougall, 31, of Antwerp, Ohio, was killed in the line of duty on July 20, 2007. Heidi was part of a medical team conducting a transport of two victims of an accident. She was killed when their ambulance was struck broadside by a tractor-trailer. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to explode into flames. Heidi, along with 3 other medical personnel and the couple, lost their lives in the fiery accident.<br />

Heidi was a volunteer for Antwerp Emergency Medical Services, in Antwerp, Ohio. She had been with the agency for over 2 years. Her husband, Matt, also a volunteer rescue worker, was in the crash as well and sustained injuries.<br />
<br />
Lynn Johnsonbaugh stated, "Heidi loved it," referring to her work as an EMT. It's a way to get involved in the community. Not all can do this work, but those who get involved as volunteers love it. She was a devoted and caring person, one who gave willingly to her community. She will be missed.<br />
