When asked why the young volunteer emergency medical provider liked his work with Emergency Medical Services, he stated that it was his turn to give to others that needed special help. Jeremy loved assisting others. He was the type of person who made a difference every day of his life.<br />

Jeremy D. Rodecap, 29, of Middletown, Indiana died from injuries he received in a fall on December 3, 2005. He had been dispatched as part of a team responding to an accident scene. As he was leaving his home, he slipped and fell on a sidewalk laden with ice. Jeremy was not found until December 4, when he was discovered on the sidewalk where he had hit his head. After attempts to save his life were made, the county coroner pronounced his death.<br />

Mr. Rodecap served at Middletown/Fall Creek EMS as their driver. He had been an EMT cadet for Pendleton Ambulance Service and had served on K & W Ambulance, Markleville Adams Township EMS and IUPUI EMS.<br />

Jeremy was highly respected by his peers and his community. He was known for his kindness, and for helping others in need. He was faced with many personal challenges of his own; however, he always looked past those challenges to become active in the community. Jeremy, even as a young child, always looked for someone or something he could help. He was truly devoted to mankind, and is remembered as an everyday hero.<br />
