Biography
An avid climber, skier, mountain biker and hiker, this man had a great love for the outdoors. He devoted his life to helping others in times of need and was an inspiration to those living with cystic fibrosis. "His enthusiastic spirit, love of life and the dedication to helping others is an inspiration to us all," said Roger Ceilley, father-in-law to the wonderful rescue worker. "He was a special kind of guy; after all not just anybody is chosen to carry the Olympic torch before the 2002 Salt Lake City Games."

Scott D. Hyslop, 33, lost his life in an aero medical accident on June 30, 2005. He was one of three on a medical team aboard a helicopter en route to meet an ambulance at a landing zone. They were to transfer an injured logger who had been working in a rough wooded area.

Mr. Hyslop was a flight paramedic for CareFlight in Durango, Colorado. He also worked for the Fire and Rescue Authority in Durango.

"This is a tragic loss to CareFlight; these three gentlemen were not only some of the best flight paramedics in the field, but were loving fathers, husbands and community leaders," stated friend Dr. Jerome Buckley.

Honored 2006
