| Her goal in life was to help everybody in this community. She always believed in safety first and was a careful driver. Her medical field showed that she was interested in helping others. "A light that glowed so strong has gone out, years before it dimmed from age," stated an agency member. "She had a bright future in the field of rescue."<br /> <br /> Bridgett Nicole Autry, 18, lost her life June 13, 2002 in a vehicle traffic accident while responding to a structure fire. She later died at the Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, North Carolina.<br /> <br /> Ms. Autry was a volunteer emergency medical worker and firefighter for Herring Volunteer Fire and Medic Department.<br /> <br /> "Bridgett will be greatly missed. She was one of the most dedicated people we had in the department. Words cannot even describe how everyone at the department feels right now."<br /> <br /> Honored 2006 |
