Paul died for his career, as he lived for his career, loving his job in the EMS Field. Paul loved his job as a flight paramedic, and he lived his last moments giving his best. His dedication was beyond his years, and his patient caring was outstanding. He will not be soon forgotten by those whose lives he touched. He, as well as all those who serve in the world of EMS, put their lives on the line everyday that others may live.<br />

Paul H. Lujan, 32, died in the line of duty on March 21, 2004. The CareStar Flight Crew was called out to the Big Bend Medical Center in Alpine, Texas to transport a three-month-old baby suffering from pneumonia. The team was in flight to the University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. All contact was lost with the pilot and search crews were immediately sent out. The copter was located strewed over the mountainside hear Peyote, Texas.<br />

Mr. Lujan had been with CareStar Air Ambulance Services since 2003. He served part-time with the EMS 911 Emergency Services in Fort Stockton, Texas. He previously worked for the Crane Fire Department, in Crane, Texas, West Starr Ambulance Services in Odessa, Texas and Pecos Hospital in Fort Stockton, Texas.<br />
