| Not only did Debra Herter give her time and talent as an emergency medical technician, she was active in the New London community in other ways. She was a valuable volunteer with the Waupaca County Commission on Aging and with Meals-On-Wheels--her son liked to carry the small carton of milk as she made deliveries.<br /> <br /> Debra was at home on backup call when paged for an emergency ambulance call. With red light flashing and siren sounding, the truck she used to respond entered an intersection and was struck by another vehicle. Debra was thrown from her truck, receiving massive head and chest injuries. She died on July 10, 1984, at the age of 32 as she was trying to save someone else.<br /> <br /> Debra and Dennis had two sons, Billy Joe and Troy, and one daughter, Tammy.<br /> <br /> Honored 1994 |
