Biography
Kenneth Davis lost his life November 7, 1976 when he and his two partners were returning from a call in which their services were not needed. The rescue vehicle was returning from an unfounded call when it was struck broadside by a car being driven at a high rate of speed. The rescue vehicle was knocked more then 55 feet.<br /> <br /> Mr. Davis, 27, worked for the city of Goldsboro as a draftsman in the engineering department. He was a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician for the Goldsboro Rescue and EMS in Goldsboro, North Carolina. His other volunteer duties with his rescue squad included rescue driver, Secretary, Sergeant, and Lieutenant, and a member of the North Carolina Rescue Association. He received posthumously the Medal of Valor.<br /> <br /> His wife Ruth Davis Blizzard, a daughter Melissa Dawn Davis, his mother Mary Lee Davis Rhodes, and his sister Kathy Rhodes, survive Kenneth Davis.<br /> <br /> Honored 2001
