Earl Reece was the first ambulance director of the Eldora Ambulance Service, in Eldora, Iowa.<br />

Mr. Reece was a paramedic for the Eldora Ambulance Service. He was a passenger in the ambulance returning to Eldora after completing a transport of a cardiac patient from Eldora Regional Medical Center to Iowa Lutheran, in Des Moines. It was February 11, 1993, when the ambulance driver lost control of the vehicle due to icy road conditions, hitting a tree, killing Reece instantly. The driver was critically injured, and fortunately survived.<br />

Earl was president of Hardin County EMS Association for four years, a member of the North Central Iowa EMS Council, and an emergency medical technical instructor. He worked for Trinity Regional Hospital Emergency Service Department in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Earl also served in the U.S. Marine Reserve.<br />

Earl C Reece is survived by his wife, Susie, three daughters, Jennifer, Jessica, and Joanna, one grandchild, mother, Mabel Reece, and two brothers, Linn and Keith.<br />
