On June 6, 1997 while attempting to rescue a victim of a car accident, Paramedic Robert Good gave his life. Bob was involved in a chain reaction electrocution that killed him, two firefighters and the car accident victim. The driver of the car drove off the side of the road, struck an electrical pole which forced the lines down surrounding the vehicle. while others restrained the driver who was attempting to escape, the first responders secured the victim to the backboard. While removing him from the scene one of the rescuers came into contact with the wires resulting in the electrocution of the rescuers and the patient.<br />

Bob joined Rural/Metro in 1993 as a full-time employee and later worked part-time when he was employed by Marion General Hospital as an emergency department paramedic."No challenge was ever too great for Bob, no request too small," said Jo Ellen Braden, supervisor of emergency services at the hospital.<br />

A paramedic and firefighter, he was a four-year U.S. Navy veteran, a lieutenant on the Baffle Run Fire Department and EMS, Bob was 30 years old and is survived by his children, Ryan and Kayla Good. Bob was engaged to be married. His parents are Robert A. Good and Carol and Robert Birchfield.<br />
