Biography
Bill was known as a humble man with a "can do" attitude and a great friend that would never hesitate to help anyone with anything they may need help with. For him, helping people wasn't a job; it was a way of life. Whether it be helping a friend with a computer problem or helping one of his sons work on the car, Bill could be counted on to be there. Not only was he employed by Henry County EMS as an EMT, he also volunteered with the Dunreith Fire Department and was an active member of the Henry County Haz-Mat team.

Bill was not only dedicated to his civic duties; he was a dedicated family man. Himself a high school wrestler he enjoyed coaching his son in wrestling and served as a referee. He taught his children how to be respectful, caring individuals, and he was always there for them, even for the simplest things.

On the evening of July 2, 2010, sometime after returning from two emergency alarms, William Kirby, 56, suffered a fatal heart attack. He was later found in cardiac arrest. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Honored 2011
