Patrick Walters could cook up some of the best food around; he could add to his list of accomplishments the title "chef." He loved his family and he loved life; it clearly showed through in all of his accomplishments. Patrick Walters, 45, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, died in the line of duty on September 25, 2009. He was the pilot of a 3-person medical team that had completed the transfer of a patient to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and headed to their base in Conway, an area just inland from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was piloting the Carolina Lifecare helicopter back to its base in Conway when the crash occurred. There were thunderstorms in the area at the time of the accident. There were no survivors.<br />

Pilot Walters was the Base Manager and helicopter pilot for Omni flight Helicopters, Inc., based in Conway, South Carolina. Pilot Walters was a highly decorated retired U. S. Marine Corps Captain.<br />
