| Biography | |
| Joe was a volunteer with the Weakley County Rescue Squad and was enrolled in emergency medical technician classes. Additionally, he was a full-time employee of Weakley County Ambulance Service when he died on December 26, 1982, during the course of a routine call to pick up a patient at Weakley County Nursing Home.<br /> <br /> He was the front seat passenger of the ambulance when it was involved in an accident with a tractor trailer. On impact the ambulance broke into three pieces, and the three emergency medical services providers on the call were thrown from the vehicle and killed instantly. He was 25 years old.<br /> <br /> Joe left behind his wife Rita, daughter Gaila Jo, and son Louis Wesley.<br /> <br /> Honored 1995 |
