Biography
The ones of us who realize our calling in career choices in life are truly the lucky ones. You enjoy your job, looking forward to each new day. Certainly you could tell Mr. Francis was one of the lucky ones. He lived each day realizing his talent and gave more then his share to the community. "Dale was well known throughout the Emergency Medical Services field, and he was well respected," stated Doug Wilhelm.<br /> <br /> Dale Curtis Francis, 43, died August 24, 2001 while attending to the needs of his patient. He had completed the transport of a cardiac patient to St. Luke's Hospital in Quakertown Division. After removing the patient from the stretcher he was washing his hands when he fell to the floor. It was determined that he was in full cardiac arrest. He was resuscitated and transported to St. Luke's in Bethlehem for angioplasty followed by cardiac bypass surgery. He died within twenty-four hours of complications from surgery.<br /> <br /> Mr. Francis was employed as a paramedic for five years with Lifestar Ambulance Corps of Quakertown, Pennsylvania. He worked for Grandview Hospital for nineteen years. He volunteered along with his wife, Gretchen, for the Haycock Fire Department. Dale was past Chief of Landsdale Medical Corps and a Life Member there. He was a past member of Harleysville, Upper Perkiomen, Sonderton, and Plumsteadville Ambulance Corps.<br /> <br /> Honored 2002
