Ken had always wanted to be a flight nurse. He received his LPN license from Baptist School of Nursing in Little Rock, and went on to graduate from UALR with an Associate Degree in Registered Nursing. His career included working at Baptist Memorial Hospital and Arkansas Children's Hospital. His experience led him from floor nursing to the critical care area. In 2003, he realized his dream of being a flight nurse when he joined the Air Evac Lifeteam with the opening of the Vilonia base. During his service with Air Evac, he was involved in the transport of over 1,000 patients.
Ken enjoyed the outdoors and loved canoeing, hiking, and camping. He was fond of his motorcycle and his Corvette and was always up for a round of golf with friends. However, the true love of his life was his family. He met his wife, Dona, while working at Arkansas Children's Hospital, and they married on June 1, 2001. Ken was an amazing husband and loving father to their four children.
