Melissa placed a great value on family, always placing their needs first. She loved family gatherings, and everyone in the family looked forward to the times together on camping trips, hiking, and other sports. She served her community well; she was a member of scout committees and served on the town's theater board, as well as acted in many plays. She was always running to either a soccer or baseball game. She loved it all, and was always in the best mood. She sang and loved to dance, and loved her community. She was a natural helper of people; the reason she volunteered with the ambulance service. As a matter of fact, she liked it so much that she was studying to be an EMT and was short of that dream at her untimely death.<br />
