Biography
Claxton was the kind of guy that everyone wanted to be around; he was always an example to follow. He was a loving and caring man who devoted his time and energy to his family and his community. Claxton was a natural helper, a man who touched many lives both personally and professionally. His work in Emergency Medical Services was such an important part of his life. Patricia Brisson, with Bladen County EMS, remembers Claxton saying, "Can y'all believe we're going to get paid for a job we love to do?"<br /> <br /> Randolph Claxton Dove, 39, of Bladenboro, North Carolina, was killed in the line of duty on September 25, 2009. He was part of a medical team aboard a Carolina Lifecare helicopter that had completed a patient transfer to a Charleston, South Carolina hospital. The helicopter was on its return trip to Conway, South Carolina and there were thunderstorms in the area at the time of the crash. There were no survivors.<br /> <br /> Claxton Dove was employed as a flight paramedic by Carolina Lifecare in Conway, South Carolina. He also worked for Med-Care of Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, North Carolina. He served his community as a volunteer with Tar Heel and Bladenboro rescue services as an EMT.<br /> <br /> Honored 2010
