Larry Gilliam, 37, was a full-time employee of Weakley County Ambulance Service when he died on December 26, 1982, during the course of a routine call to pick up a patient at Weakley County Nursing Home. He was the driver of an ambulance that was involved in an accident with a tractor trailer. On impact the ambulance broke into three pieces, and the three emergency medical services providers on the call were thrown from the vehicle and killed instantly. He had been an emergency medical technician for six years.<br />

Larry was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was survived by his wife Kathy and two sons, Lee and Dwayne.<br />
