Biography
Connie C. Bornman, 56, of Middle River, Maryland, died in the line of duty on May 17, 2004. She was the driver on call for a person having chest pains. After the patient was stable, Connie excused herself for fresh air. After a few minutes, Connie was discovered in the ambulance driver's seat unconscious. Immediate care was given and she was transported to Franklin Square Hospital, however, all attempts to save the life of this rescue worker were in vain.

Bornman began her career with the Middle River Volunteer Rescue Company in 2001. She served the agency in the capacity of EMT-1. Connie had begun her studies to become a paramedic.

Connie began her rescue service upon the urging of her son who was already an EMT, and her husband, who had volunteered for over twenty years. "It was something to see that family walking through the door; they were a family within a family, and they loved to help people," stated the agency's chief. Connie was a good fundraiser, always there with ideas on how to help.

Honored 2009
