Biography
The procession of ambulances, police motor cycles, and fire trucks all with red lights flashing, slowly passed through the quant town. The town's people lined the street to bid farewell to their hometown heroes.

Kelly J. Rager, 25, of Antwerp, Ohio, was killed in the line of duty on July 20, 2007. She was one of a crew of four conducting a two-patient transport from an earlier car crash. En route to the hospital the ambulance she was riding was struck by a semi-truck; the two vehicles exploded into flames from the impact of the gas tanks. The crash took the lives of three EMS providers and the two car crash victiMs. .

Kelly was a volunteer with the Antwerp EMS Agency in Antwerp, Ohio. She was enrolled in college as a nursing student. She loved her volunteer work in Emergency Medical Services, something that she stated she would never give up. She considered this agency part of her family. We picked on her for being a real blonde, and she would laugh heartily at all the jokes.

"The young EMT was a fun-loving girl. She started water fights, would pick on everyone and we would tease her so much with blonde jokes. The payback would be her clever way of standing next to you, then soaking you from a spray bottle. However, she really liked helping people, and did not like to see people hurting. Ms. Rager was a valuable asset to our agency; she was turning out to be a very good rescuer.

Honored 2008
