Mike will always be remembered by his co-workers as an excellent paramedic who was dedicated, honest and hard-working. He was also known as a family man who placed his wife and children above everything else. "Mike was just one of those good guys you hope to have the opportunity to work with," recalls one of his former supervisors.<br />

Michael Hendricks, 38, of Mesa, Arizona was killed in the line of duty on June 24, 1992, while transporting a respiratory patient in the back of a Southwest Ambulance. The driver of the unit was trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle which crossed into their lane. Mike was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Phoenix where he was pronounced dead.<br />

Before working for Southwest, he worked for Associated Ambulance based in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a charter member of the International Association of Firefighters Local I-60 just prior to his death. Michael will forever be remembered for his work helping save others' lives.<br />
