"He loved his career in EMS. He would go to work no matter what, and stay late; he would be exhausted and still working," stated his wife. "He brought so much experience to the station, and he was one you could always depend on for the right answers if they were related to the field of rescue," stated a friend.<br />

Brendon D. Pearson, 51, died in the line of duty on April 23, 2005. While pulling his shift, he suffered a hernia lifting medical equipment. After being evaluated he was told surgery was needed to correct the hernia. Brendon had the surgery, was recuperating well, then collapsed and died suddenly.<br />

Mr. Pearson was a Lieutenant with the New York Fire Department Emergency Medical Services. He was assigned to Station 23 in Staten Island. Brendon had been with the department for 24 years. "He knew his work, he did it well, he was one of the most dedicated people on the job, and he treated all people with kindness and respect," stated a friend from Station 23.<br />

"He's the kind of professional who will be sorely missed because of the impact he made," stated a co-worker.<br />
