"He was very good to respond to calls, and he was good to his neighbors," stated Harry Sullivan, president of the Helton Township, Incorporated Ambulance Service.<br />

Randy Blevins was a medical responder for Helton Unit and was scheduled to take the Emergency Medical Service certification test in two weeks. He had been a responder for one and one-half years. "He already had all the training," Sullivan said.<br />

Blevins was responding to a chest pain call when he was involved in an accident on Fees Branch Road in Lansing, North Carolina. Randy died of chest injuries as a result of the wreck on March 29, 1999.<br />
<br />
Randall Blevins, is survived by his mother, Orba Blevins. He was 46 years old.<br />
