| Shortly after liftoff from the scene of a violent auto crash, the helicopter that flight nurse Jeanette Christ was aboard crashed. Everyone on board the helicopter was killed including the patient they were evacuating. It was April 28, 1982 and Jeanette was 33 years old when she lost her life trying to save others.<br /> <br /> Jeanette loved nursing and the challenges of the field. Prior to Medevac duty she worked in the acute cardiac care unit. Later she transferred to the emergency department and then joined the flight team. She continued to work in the emergency department while serving as a flight nurse.<br /> <br /> From New Tripoli, she had worked in the hospital center since September 1974. She was a kind and gentle person who was a true advocate of the patient's best interest.<br /> <br /> Jeanette is survived by a sister, Judy Diehl.<br /> <br /> Honored 1998 |
